These German cookies are sweet and nicely spiced with a satisfying crunch. We often make these during Christmas. Since I am not partial to walnuts I always omit them.

I loved these cookies! They had the perfect amound of spice, nice and chewy, and simple to make. I couldnt find my cookie cutters so I just cut them into squares and made them that way and it yielded about 19 cookies but they were rather large.

These were really good cookies, but for some reason I found the dough too soft and gooey. It might havebeen because I halved the recipe, but next time I'll do the full amount and see whether it hasthe same results. It was still delicious, though

I made these for our xmas cookie trays. I omitted the walnuts and after brushing the tops with the egg white, I sprinkled on sparkly sugar. They turned out beautifully. Nice and chewy! DD loves them!
