Year 'round Spiced Peach Jam (In Your Bread Machine)

Recipe #145053 | 1¼ hours | 5 min prep | add private note

I was amazed that there were no recipes on zaar for jams that you can make in your bread machine! This is from my bread machine manual. Only for if you have a jam program on your bread machine! I just tried this out today because I am going to make an assortment of jams for Christmas gifts, and it was quite good. I would recommend using no more than the amount of spices listed - it is very strong. Also, I read that you should only use low-sugar pectin recipes in the bread machine. I didn't cut up the peach slices in the first batch I made, so in the second, I cut them up pretty small because the agitator doesn't do much to chop them up, like they normally would if you were stirring it constantly in a pot.

3 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Attach kneading blade in the bread pan.
  2. 2
Place ingredients into the bread pan in the following order: sugar, pectin, peaches, cloves, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. 3
Place bread pan in bread machine and close lid.
  4. 4
Plug bread machine in and select "jam" program.
  5. 5
    Press start.
  6. 6
When jam cycle is complete, open lid and using oven mitts, take pan out of bread maker - BE CAREFUL! IT'S VERY HOT!
  7. 7
    Let jam cool.
  8. 8
Carefully pour jam into container(s) and cover and refrigerate to set.
  9. 9
Jam will keep in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Canning is a good idea too!

This turned out very well. Next time I might run the peaches through the blender first, I cut them small, but it was still too chucky for my taste. I will also decrease the cloves to 1/2 tsp; they aren't my favorite, and the clove flavor was pretty strong.

I wish I could reach out and hug your neck!!!!I love peach anything, especially using frozen peaches as they are always available. I just happened on to the recipe while looking for peach bread. Haven't made it yet but you can bet your bottom dollar I will of made this before the week is out. If you have any suggestion on things I should or shouldn't do please feel free to let me know, also if you have posted any other quick jams I would appreciate knowing. Will let you know the end result, don't have a jam setting on my bread machine so will attempt on the stove top. Thanks again....Lydia
