This is from a Weight Watchers cookbook called Simple Goodness. Use a pizza cutter to cut strips more easily. I freeze them in zip lock bags and heat in the microwave about 20 to 30 second.

SERVES 16 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

  • 1 (10 ounce) can pizza dough, refrigerated (Pillsbury)
  • butter-flavored cooking spray

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. 2
Combine first 3 ingredients in a samll bowl; stir well, and set aside.
  3. 3
Unroll pizza dough, and roll into a 12 x 8 inch rectangle.
  4. 4
Lightly coat suface of dough with cooking spray, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons cheese mixture.
  5. 5
Fold dough in half to form an 8 x 6 inch rectangle.
  6. 6
Lightly coat surface of dough with cooking spray, and sprinkle with remaining cheese mixture.
  7. 7
Using fingertips, press cheese mixture into dough.
  8. 8
Cut dough into 16 (8-inch-long strips.
  9. 9
Gently pick up both ends of each strip, and twist dough.
  10. 10

Bate at 425 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
  12. 12

Easy and tasty. I made this exactly as written. The directions are well written and simple to follow. I'll be freezing most of this batch. Made for Theirs, Yours and Mine Photo Tag.

Yummy! I made Pizza Dough for Thin Crust Pizza for the pizza dough and I used a regular olive oil spray since I didn't have butter flavored cooking spray. Other than that, I followed the directions exactly. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Fun to make and eat! I used reduced fat pizza dough and parmesan, smoked paprika and was very generous with the red pepper. I also added a little kosher salt when sprinkling on the cheese. The twisting reminded me of playing with Play Doh although this was a lot stickier! A little cooking spray on my finger tips made it much easier to accomplish. Tucking the ends under and pressing down a little helped keep mine from unraveling as they baked. I dunked them in pizza sauce, picante sauce, spicy mustard … you name it, I tried it. My favorite was just straight up. Thanks for posting this recipe. I had never thought to do anything with pizza crusts than, well, pizza.
