Great recipe from kindergarten!!! What else could "W" represent but great, chocolate waffles? These are really good frosted or covered with whip cream and chocolate syrup.

I made these this morning, oh, my, were they rich and good. I melted the butter and it worked very well. I try to stick to recipes pretty close the first time, next time I may cut back a bit on the butter (then again, they were soooo good the way they were) and add extra water as someone else suggested. We all loved them, made six waffles, but, so rich, could only eat one a piece anyway. Great recipe, thanks!

I wasn't sure if the butter should just be softened or melted since the recipe didn't say. I went with softened and I think it was a mistake. The batter was like a brownie batter and definitely not pourable. The flavor was good (also similar to a brownie) but they are a soft waffle, not crisp. They did firm up once they were completely cooled, frozen and toasted. The kids loved them. Thanks for sharing!

Very yummy. I agree with Marg's review that the batter was more like brownie batter, resulting in a softer and very rich waffle. I also was confused about what to do with the butter and had a little mess with trying to incorporate the butter by adding all the ingredients at once. Next time I will cream the butter with the suger before adding the remaining ingredients. I have a 7 inch round waffle maker, so the recipe made 4 waffles. Thanks for posting!
