Very tastey but "healthy" is the wrong word to describe this waffle because each serving is a whopping 55% fat!!. I reduced the vegetable oil (used extra virgin olive) by half which is more in line with other waffle recipes.

My sister got me a waffle make for my birthday this year and this was my very 1st waffle recipe I attempted. Wow...This is really good and does not even taste like it's 100% whole wheat. I did take out 1/2 cup of the wheat germ and substituted 1/2 cup of quick cooking oats. I've made this with both cows milk and almond milk and I have to admit, I like it better with the almond milk. I've tried a few other waffle recipes, but I always come back to this one. Thanks so much for posting!!!

These were great. I used brown sugar instead of white, and added old fashioned oats for part of the wheat germ.

I substituted Almond extract ~1/4 teaspoon and ~ 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Splenda instead of sugar. A very good and simple recipe. I will add fruit, other flavorings, and maybe nuts for more variety.
