White Buttercream Icing

Recipe #86867 | 5 min | 5 min prep
Moe! Larry! Cheese!

I decorate cakes and this is my most requested icing. This recipe will decorate one 9x13 or smaller cake. This icing tastes the best with yellow or white cake. The creme bouquet flavoring is made by CK Products (www.ckproducts.com to find a location) and can be found at some stores that carry cake decorating supplies. If you cannot find it, substitute any clear flavoring of your choice. I got this recipe from the Wilton cake decorating courses.

3 CUPS (change servings and units)

I used to decorate cakes and have used this recipe for years. I have never heard of creme bouquet so I do not use it, I will have to see if I can find it at a supply store and give it a try. I find that this recipe makes a nice buttercream icing and I do not find the crisco flavor to be overpowering. Thanks for posting this recipe, I came looking for it as I misplaced mine.

YUCK!!! I was going to use this recipe to make my own wedding cake, and boy was I wrong! I don't know if I made it wrong or what, but all the texture tasted like was the Crisco!!! Good thing I made a practice cake first, I had to throw the whole thing away because I couldn't stand it. Definitely a learning experience — never make a homemade frosting if it calls for Crisco! Yucky!

Great recipe for buttercream icing you can use any flavoring for it to take away the crisco taste its great on chocolate cakes too. I use this recipe every time i make cakes. Its not hard to make. I used wiltons cake decorating course one it's very informative for those that want to learn how to make icing or decorate a cake.
