Waffles

A basic waffle recipe. You can cook the whole batch in under 30 minutes.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into mixing bowl.
  2. 2
    Beat egg yolks well and add milk, continue beating slowly adding the sifted flour mixture, beating until completely smooth.
  3. 3
    Mix in melted butter.
  4. 4
    Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter.
  5. 5
    Cook in preheated waffle maker.
  6. 6
    Also makes great pancakes!

Its fantastic. I have nothing else to say that the other 54 reviews haven't already said except I did add a 1/2 tsp of vanilla and that there was no heavy oil taste which usually accompanies the box types. Well worth the minimal time investment to have such light and tasty waffles. Thanks Shelli

    Added 1tsp of vanilla but other than that, perfect. Good enough for company.

    Just commented and forgot to ask: is it baking soda or powder? I used powder and it worked great, but the 'steps' say to use baking soda.... Just checking!
