This is a recipe I got from my mom. I grew up with these waffles and my brother and I loved them. No sugar in this recipe, but who needs it with the added butter and syrup or powdered sugar. I am saving this for my personal cookbook.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Heat waffle iron.
  2. 2
Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt very well(otherwise may get bites that are bitter), I use a plastic bag and just shake all very well. Mix the eggs, milk and oil in a seperate bowl and then add the dry ingredients and mix all well.
  3. 3
Pour enough mix into waffle iron and cook to desired doneness.

I chose this recipe because this recipe didn't need the eggs to be separated. So that was easy. I really didn't like the baking powder taste, sorry, it tasted off.

Wonderful. I did add a little sugar because I did not put sugar or syrup on top of waffles, only fresh strawberries. They were VERY good.

These waffles are indeed light and fluffy, as well as quicker without having to seperate the eggs. However I wouldn't make them again. They had a very strong baking soda/powder taste to me

Great recipe, thanks! The waffles were very fluffy. I substituted the milk with vanilla soy milk...delicious!
