Vanilla Buttercream Frosting (From Sprinkles Cupcakes)

Recipe #222188 | 10 min | 10 min prep | add private note

My sister got this off the box of a Sprinkles Cupcake mix who were made famous by Oprah. My sister said this was amazing. Update: I have finally gotten around to making this myself. I will say, that I don't like my desserts overly sweet, and though this was very good, I think I would probably decrease the amount of sugar for my personal taste. I'm glad everyone else has liked it as is, though.

I've never made vanilla buttercream before, only chocolate. This recipe REALLY takes the cake! I had to add a little extra milk, but other than that, followed the recipe exactly. Light flavor, fluffy and delicious!

Really amazing tasty frosting. Its light and fluffy, and not to sweet. Im don't really enjoy frosting, but this frosting is worth it. I divided the recipe almost in half, I used 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, and 1/2 cup of butter, but kept same amount of the rest, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp milk, and 1/8 tsp salt. It turned out fantastic. And still way too much for my 12 cupcakes.

Great! Works better if all of your ingredients are room temperature

This is WONDERFUL! So simple to make, and it comes out so smooth and creamy. I was skeptical about the low amount of liquid added, but it comes out perfect. I used this to decorate Halloween cupcakes. Thanks for posting this!
