Vanilla Almond Rice Krispies Treats

Recipe #19556 | 7 min | 2 min prep | add private note

A variation of Kellog's Rice Krispies Treats Original recipe. Just the added dash of vanilla and almond extracts makes these scrumptious!

24 two inch squares (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Melt margarine in large non-stick pan (I use my T-Fal Dutch oven) over medium-low heat.
  2. 2
Add marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
  3. 3
    Turn off flame.
  4. 4
    Stir in extracts.
  5. 5
Fold in cereal and continue folding until well coated.
  6. 6
Spray 13 X 9 pan with cooking spray and press mixture into pan (I spray my hand with a little Pam and then use my hand but you can use the back of a buttered spoon if you don't have asbestos fingers like mine).
  7. 7
    Cool and cut into squares.

Nice little twist on the rice krispie treat. The almond is a wonderful background flavor. Made for the USA regional tag game!

This recipe is very easy to make. It tastes great, but I am planning to add a little more marshmallows and butter as it is just a tad dry. Rene'

I made half a batch and I used butter instead of margarine. I liked the addition of the almond extract. Instead of a 13x9 pan I used individual heart shaped forms for Valentines Day. Thanks for posting a great recipe.
