Ultimate M & M Cookies

Recipe #310418 | 40 min | 10 min prep | add private note

This is from an M&M's recipe booklet I picked up somewhere. This does not use peanut butter like a lot of other recipes on this site with M&M's. I hope you like them.

SERVES 18 , 36 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.
  2. 2
In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture.
  3. 3
Stir in M&M's (and nuts if using).
  4. 4
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. 5
Bake 10-12 minutes in a 350F oven. (They should be lightly browned and centers still soft. Do not overbake or they will become flat and crisp after cooling).
  6. 6
Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

I have made these three times in the last 3 days. BIG hit with my husband and the rest of the family.

These cookies were good. Mine turned out on the flat side. But I forgot to add the right amount of baking soda. I will try these again.

Made these cookies to take to my grandsons today and we sampled a few of them I did not add the nuts because of the boys. I only added 3/4 of the bag and glad that I did because for us the full bag would have been too much for us. I used a tablespoon for measuring and I made 3 dozen cookies. It took min 12 minutes in the oven. Thanks for sharing!

Since I had a hard time hiding the M&M's from DS's for making this recipe, I knew these would be a great treat for all. A great keeper recipe Mel. I've never made M&M cookies b/f and I"m sure it won't be the last. The only thing different I did was used full size plain M&M's. Couldn't find the mini's, though after thinking about it and looking later, discovered they were in the baking aisle. Duh.... Made for NewestZaarTag~
