I made this last night and when I woke up 1/4 of it was gone!! It is very good. I followed the box directions and used 1/3 cup of oil. For the flavorings I used banana and strawberry plus I also added green...can't have tye-dye without my favorite color! I used gel dyes because they tend to give better coloring. Thanks so much for posting this fun cake recipe!

A fun recipe for a kid's birthday party or a 70's retro event. When I mixed the colors called for in the recipe, I was afraid the cupcakes were going to look like they were for a baby shower since the red was more pink than red rather than a teen's birthday party. I added purple and green to the mix and was really pleased with the results. I put about 1 Tbls. of each color in each cupcake and then swirled them with a toothpick. Next time I'll try swirling with a knife as the toothpick didn't do much for the colors towards the bottom. Thanks for sharing such a fun recipe!
