Turkey and Dressing Patties With Gravy

Recipe #135528 | 20 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I had some leftover turkey, dressing and gravy and I didn't want the same old boring leftovers. This is what I came up with. This can be doubled very easily. You can even use chicken instead. For the dressing use your favorite. Posted August 29th 2005.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup leftover cooked turkey, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups turkey stuffing
  • 1 1/4 cups turkey gravy
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • oil (for frying)

Directions

  1. 1
Mix together turkey, dressing, and enough gravy to hold mixture together. If needed add enough bread crumbs to be able to make patty shaped.
  2. 2
In a medium sized skillet, heat oil until hot but not smoking.
  3. 3
Shape turkey mixture into two patties.
  4. 4
Add to skillet, fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side.
  5. 5
Remove to serving plate, add rest of warmed up gravy over patties.

What a great comfort meal! The only thing I did different was chopped onion to the gravy. What a great meal. I had this with mashed potatoes! Thanks so much for the great meal!

Made this with some left over chicken and gravy. The first time it feel apart, so for the second attempt I added and egg to bind and it held up just fine. Thanks for the recipe! I will be sure to make again!

I liked this idea, but it just didn't work for me. My patties did not hold together while frying- they crumbled when I tried to turn them. I finally added the rest of the gravy to the pan, so the end product was more of thick gravy with stuffing chunks- kind of the consistancy of hamburger gravy- so I wound up spooning it over top of mashed potatoes. They seemed like firm patties when I started, so I'm not sure what happened. I might try this again, & I'll re-rate if I do. Thanks anyway!
