This is a recipe that I got from a Irish woman who used to cook for her family in Ireland.

2 Loaves (change servings and units)

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sugar.
  3. 3
    Cut in butter with flour mix.
  4. 4
    Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and any optional ingredients.
  5. 5
    Lightly knead into two loaves, be sure not too sticky, and not too over worked.
  6. 6
    Put into a 350°F oven for approximately for 45 minutes, or till sounds hollow when hit on the bottom of the bread.
