Touchdown Pepperoni Pizza Sandwich.

This is a hybrid of a pizza and a sandwich--in one handy little package. Mix-n-match to adjust for your own personal tastes. I dreamed this up while in line at the check-out knowing I needed something quick to satisfy DS who was anxious to get over to his friend's to watch the game on the big screen TV. DH and the Peanut Gallery thought this rated five stars! Hope you do, too! IDEA: Use the toaster oven OR a panini-maker to get these sammies to the peak of perfection!!!

1 slamwich (change servings and units)

Ingredients

For one sandwich

Directions

  1. 1
Spread mayonnaise on one slice and pizza or spaghetti sauce on the other slice.
  2. 2
Lay pepperoni slices on the pizza sauce and the cheese over the top of that.
  3. 3
Sprinkle Parmesan on the mayonnaise slice.
  4. 4
Pop both pieces into the toaster oven (or put together and use a panini maker) until cheese is bubbly and melted.
  5. 5
Fold sides together, and serve while warm.
  6. 6
VARIATION: try this with your favorite pizza toppings OR cheeses.
  7. 7
SERVING SUGGESTION: Cut on point into four pieces and use as "appetizers" or little kid-wiches.

I made this yesterday.I added garlic powder, and grilled onions and green pepper. It was out of this world! This is a lot cheaper than making Pastrami sandwiches.Try experimenting with the cheese until you get it the way you want.I am sending this recipe to ALL my friends and family.Definitely give this a try.You will not be dissapointed.Edward Pankey alias "The Great Cat!"...

Very good simple recipe. I changed it up a bit but don't think that it altered the results much. I made these on hoagie buns using provolone cheese. I also mixed 1/4 c mayo with 1/4 shredded parmesan, 1/2 tsp italian seasoning and 1/2 tsp garlic powder and spread that on the top half of the buns(I made 4 sandwiches). The bottom I spread spaghetti sauce on, then topped with pepperoni slices and the slices of provolone. I put them under the broiler until the cheese was melted and had a few 'golden' spots. These were super yummy, easy and will be enjoyed by us again! Thanks!

5 Stars as I made these without the mayo! Added thinly slice red onions and used chorizo`s in place of pepperoni. Yes! this is a great game finger food! Thanks.
