Toasted Garlic-Mozzarella Bread

If you are an extreme garlic-lover then increase the garlic amount, don't omit the olive oil it really makes a difference to the taste!

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Slice the bread into about 1 to 1-1/2-inch thick slices using a serrated knife.
  2. 2
    In a small bowl mix together softened butter with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, and salt until well combined.
  3. 3
    Add in black pepper to taste.
  4. 4
    Spread the mixture over the bread slices.
  5. 5
    Place the slices onto a baking sheet.
  6. 6
    Broil for about 4 minutes or until slightly brown (watch closely these will brown quickly!).
  7. 7
    Remove then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese onto each slice, return to broiler for about 2 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned.

    Serve immediately.

    In memory 2008. Used this recipe to top Rustic Italian Bread. Once again another winner!! I did burn it a bit and was worried that the garlic might be bitter. Not to worry...it was devoured! thank you once again Kitten!

    I am making a homemade Spaghetti sauce & meatballs from Zaar and I was looking for the perfect garlic bread and this fit's the bill. I agree with the last review I could live from your submissions alone and be happy.6.17.07 Update- I made my dinner and everything turned out great! Thanks for the recipes, it was so fun to make everything homemade and watch everyone devour it!!
