No other recipe I've found compares. The ultimate cake-like brownie. After many years this recipe still holds strong in our family.

15 brownies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Combine flour, baking powder and salt (set aside).

    Combine melted butter, cocoa, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  3. 3
    Blend dry mix into moist mixture.
  4. 4
    Add nuts and pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch pan.
  5. 5
    Bake at 350°F degrees for 35 minutes or until it just starts to pull away from sides.

    ICING: Melt butter in saucepan with milk on medium/low.
  7. 7
    Combine cocoa with sugar and stir into milk mixture.
  8. 8
    Add vanilla and let cool till spreading consistency (will be runny at first).

    Sprinkle with more nuts if desired.

As advertised, these are perfect "cake-style" brownies. I skipped the icing and served them with vanilla ice cream. Outstanding! Thanks.

    Great brownies. I usually prefer more fudgy brownies, but these are great. Didn't add the frosting, don't like it on brownies.

    I LOVE this recipe! I wanted some brownies, and this seemed quick, so I tried it. SO YUMMY AND EASY!!! I was a little worried at first because it was so thick and I had to spread it around in the pan, but it turned out delish!

    LOVED this recipe. I like a rich flavour with chocolate, so I substituted a cup of white sugar with a packed cup of dark cane sugar. The results were sensational!
