My son LOVED this. We served it 3 different ways at our house- over Fritos, over tortilla chips and in tortillas - and they were all good. I used 2 tablespoonfuls of cumin and 1 tablespoon of oregano. I also added a can of diced green chiles. This stuff was GREAT! I also posted this to my Facebook page and got lots of inquiries about the name!

This made a nice easy taco meat. I cut back slightly on the sugar.

Riff......we loved this recipe, and I love the name! I made this dish as you instructed except I used Splenda and cut the amount to 1 Tbsp. It worked well for us. I used regular chili powder since it had the oregano and garlic powder already added. The flavors were really delightful. This is an easy recipe to make. Easy and clear directions made sure that I didn't mess up! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe. I have already printed it out for my t&t cookbook.

It has been a challenge to get my son to eat something besides bread and cheese since he was very young. It is not as bad as it used to be but he is by far the pickiest eater in my family. So when he likes something new, it goes down in the record book. He loved this, riffraff. We all loved it but it is more noteworthy to me because he loved it. I used 2 t. dried oregano, 1/2 t. cumin and 1/2 of a 15 oz. can tomato sauce. We each liked different toppings so we could please ourselves. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
