The Very Best Salisbury Steak

Recipe #56694 | 50 min | 20 min prep | add private note

By: Becky H
Mar 20, 2003

This is our favorite salisbury steak recipe. I always make enough extra sauce to serve over potatoes. Tastes like it took all day to cook.

This was very good and easy. I had 1lb ground beef to use but was not in the mood for yet another taco to mexican casserole. This really fit the bill and tasted excellent! Even with only a lb of meat, I kept the gravy measurements the same and still did not have enough (for our liking). Next time I will definitely double the gravy. I also put a can of mushrooms in the gravy but I will use fresh next time, they weren't quite right. Thank you for a great recipe!

I'm just now getting back into Recipezaar after a long absence. I have made your recipe at least 3 times; it is so good. I had been searching for this for a very long time. Years ago in the 70's I made a similar recipe using spices and vegetable soup, but I didn't keep the recipe. It is different than most Salisbury Steak recipes. I do double the sauce to have plenty of gravy for mashed potatoes. Thanks for sharing. Toni in Colorado

This was a really easy dish to prepare that we both enjoyed! My husband said the flavor reminded him of his childhood and he REALLY liked it! Will definitely make this one again! Thank you!

This recipe is a keeper. Loved the sauce. We really enjoyed it - even our finicky kids liked it (and that's saying a lot, believe me). I'll definitely make this again. Thanks!
