The Best Chex Mix

This is essentially the recipe on a box of Chex, adjusted to my taste. I like extra seasoning, a kick from hot sauce, and a few other adjustments. I also leave out the bagel chips; they just don't seem very Chex Mix-y to me.

Very good Chex mix. I doubled the recipe, added some gold fish and cooked in the microwave on high, stirring every two minutes. I only used about half the hot sauce and is just right for us. It is too hot to bake, so decided to take this for birthday treats instead. Most at my office will prefer this over sweets anyway!

Oh man. I've got this in the oven right now and it smells heavenly. I had to use 9 C of Crispix cuz we don't have Chex in Canada. I used waffle pretzels and whole cashews. Instead of Pickapepper sauce I used Louisiana brand hot sauce, and for seasoning salt I used Slap Ya Mama (local to SE Louisiana, where I'm from). I can already tell this is going to be phenomenal. Thanks for this!!

We enjoyed this mix very much though we tweeked it to our tastes. I will use it again for a "basic seasoning". We used wheat chex, corn chex, reg. peanuts instead of mixed, and the Pickapeppa Sauce was replaced with Franks Hot Sauce. The mix came out crisp and tasty. Thanks for posting Ameliahead!
