Quick and simple to make

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Combine chicken broth, water, half & half, cheese, flour, onion and pepper in a large saucepan.
  2. 2
    Whisk to combine and to break up any lumps of flour, then turn heat to medium/high.
  3. 3
    Bring soup to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  4. 4
    Add broccoli to soup and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until broccoli is tender but not soft.
  5. 5
    For each serving spoon one cup of soup into a bowl and garnish with a tbsp of shredded cheese and a pinch of parsley.

Lovely soup! I loved all the broccoli and cheese together. I think I would add fresh green onion to garnish and for flavor at the end--just personal taste. Simple soup that makes quite a bit and soothes the soul. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

    This was wonderful and super easy. I followed the recipe exactly. This thickened up nicely and great flavor. I served this with a loaf of french bread. Wonderful dinner I thank you Valerie!

    Good soup. I whisked the flour and water together and then added to the hot broth to prevent lumps.

    This was really good. To cut down on calories, I used non'fat half and half. I also used 98% fat free chicken broth. The only thing you need to be careful of is when you add the flour mixture to the soup that it doesn't clump together. I served this with a quiche that I made with egg beaters to keep the meal low on fat and calories. I will make this again.
