This is a recipe request. I use this sauce over steamed veggies and brown rice and it is delish! This can also be used for a stir fry or great with some chicken and plain ol' egg noodles.

2 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Combine 1 cup water, tamari, brown sugar, garlic and ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. 2
Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup of cold water and add to sauce.
  3. 3
Stir constantly to allow the sauce to thicken.
  4. 4
If the sauce is too thick add a little water or tamari to thin.

I give this a 4 of 5 because although I liked it my husband thought it was ok. I only taste tested it considering I made it to go along with some chicken. If anything I'll make this for myself with rice rather than serving it over chicken.

What a great recipe--quick, easy and delicious i made it for chicken stir-fry and it was fantastic. The only change I made was to increase the sugar (splenda) to 4 tablespoons as some others suggested. It was a tad to sweet for us so next time I will follow the recipe exactly as written. Thanks theresa!

YUMMY!!!! I used this for a chicken stir-fry. I cooked the chicken in a little sesame oil, added my veggies, then poured this sauce over all and let simmer for a few min. until thickened. OUTSTANDING!!! Only thing I changed was that I added a bit more garlic (well, ok, A LOT more garlic), and some crushed balck pepper. This is such a simple and versatile recipe! Thanks so much Theresa!! ~Manda

I was missing some of the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce that I usually make, so I looked up some other recipes and came across this one. This was easy to make and I had all the ingredients on hand. I used this recipe to make Mirj's Funky Chicken Funky Chicken With Sesame Noodles. Thanks for posting!
