This recipe is a no fail for the most tenderest wings, drumsticks, and even turkey necks you will find. You can do just wings, or just drumsticks, or just necks. Also, You can lightly brush them with your favorite bbq sauce just before putting them in the oven. Enjoy.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 250F (low). Heat 1 tbsp butter and the olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet (or transfer to 9x13 after browning) over medium high heat.

Add wings and drumsticks only. Sear outside to brown, turning as needed, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4
Cover tightly with lid or aluminum foil and bake for about 3 1/2 hours (4 hrs if using legs).
  5. 5
Carefully remove lid (watch for steam). Enjoy.

I love turkey wings, necks and legs. Usually I stew them, but I enjoyed them very much cooked this way. They were very tender and juicy. Made for TYM.

The only way I've had turkey drumsticks is when my mom made them in the crockpot, which I didn't like. Bleu posted this recipe for me, since I had tried to make turkey wings and they were tough. I couldn't find wings, but I made 3 legs using Smart Bal. marg. and No Salt. I also put a BBQ sauce I had leftover from another recipe of Bleu's on 2 of the legs. They did turn out so tender and tasty! We prefer it with the BBQ. So easy, like cooking in the crockpot, but better.

I was looking for a recipe to cook drumsticks partly in the oven and finish on the grill, but couldn't find one. I came across this one and figured I would cook them in the oven then just throw them on the grill w/ bbq after they were done. I almost couldn't grill them they were SO tender! They were moist, tender, and falling off the bone. I absolutely LOVE this recipe and it will be the only one I use from now on. Thank you 2Bleu for sharing it!
