Swiss Styled Asparagus

If you like asparagus, you will love this. Fresh is always best as far as asparagus goes. This is for our FFF Contest This could be made with canned asparagus, just substitute your juice from the can in place of the chicken broth. 1 can of asparagus would be about right I think

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    Melt butter in a sauce pan.
  3. 3
    Add flour and mix until incorporated.
  4. 4
    Add your milk to the flour mixture.
  5. 5
    Add broth and simmer until thickened, remember to poor in slowly.
  6. 6
    Add your cheese and put aside until you need it.
  7. 7
    Trim or peel asparagus and place into a oven proof dish.
  8. 8
    Pour your sauce over the asparagus and top with the breadcrumbs.
  9. 9
    Place dish in oven for about 15 minutes and serve nice and hot.

    Enjoy!

    This was so good; at least 5 stars. That cheese sauce was super good. It took 25 minutes for the asparagus to be cooked to my liking. I made this for WT3; thanks for posting. Rita

    Both DH and I loved this! Very simple to throw together and had a great swiss cheese flavor. I baked it for the 15 minutes and the asparagus still had some crunch to it, Perfect!! Thanks!!

    This is very easy to make! I liked this for the most part but I thought there was a little too much sauce. I also found it a bit too rich. I am glad that I tried this, though. Thanks for sharing.
