Sweet Potato Fries

Recipe #165631 | 1¼ hours | 15 min prep | add private note

By: Family Kitchen
Apr 25, 2006

These fries are made from sliced sweet potatoes and baked in the oven until crisp on the outside and chewy inside. Delicious!!!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  2. 2
Cut sweet potatoes in half and then slice into small strips that resemble standard french fries & place in large mixing bowl.
  3. 3
Sprinkle potatoes with olive oil & all spices, toss until each potato is covered in oil and spices.
  4. 4
Spread potatoes on boiling pans or wire racks over baking sheets (allows for excess oil to drip and not sit on fries).
  5. 5
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour (until browned, they will still be pliable).
  6. 6
Serve with sour cream or my spicy sour cream dip.

These were a really tastey treat! My family loved them. The blend of seasonings was excellent. I used dried minced onions instead of onion powder. They were very good. More in the oven as we speak! Thanks for posting.

these were great! they didnt taste like baked fries either, they tasted like they were fried, im sure these would be fine with just salt and pepper as well. I used this recipe but had no chili powder and they still came out great.
