This makes in one pan. Start on the stovetop and finish in the oven. So tender you can cut it with a fork. Gravy is excellent over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. Revision: Thanks to 3 KillerB's for pointing out some corrections that needed to be made to this recipe.

This was OK. My kids tasted it and wouldn't eat more, and they normally love anything with tomatoes. Thanks anyway!

I made as posted. I drained the tomatoes and mushrooms thoroughly while I sauteed the onions and meat. The meat was tender. This is an excellent recipe for busy people. Thanks for sharing. Made for Everyday is a Holiday tag,

This was great! I Think that next time i might add a little red wine to deglaze the pan a bit. It was very tender as it promised. I just served it with white rice and pan fried broccoli I tried from another member.

This was a great one pot meal! I realised when I went to make it calls for canned mushrooms that you can drain and in Australia they are mostly pureed. That still worked well but obviously made the sauce a little thinner than it would have been, but the extra sauce was terrific soaked up with some mashed potato. Steak came out super tender and it's a recipe with plenty of scope for variations.
