Potatoes Browning

No, this isn't some french bread pizza. Nor is this a bread machine recipe. This is 2 nice loaves of bread stuffed with all that stuff you love on your 'za. Easy to make and a pleaser for small gatherings or for yourself.

SERVES 8 -10 , 2 loaves (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. 2
In another bowl, add salt and oil to flour.
  3. 3
    Add yeasty water and mix.
  4. 4
Let rise for 2 hours then punch down dough.
  5. 5
Divide dough into 2 equal parts.
  6. 6
Roll each part into a rectangle, then brush with egg.
  7. 7
Put mozzarella, pepperoni and peppers on top.
  8. 8
Roll rectangle dough with toppings tightly like a jellyroll or stollen bread. Seal ends by pinching edge firmly.
  9. 9
Put onto greased flat pan, brush loaves with egg, and sprinkle parmesan, oregano and pepper flakes atop.
  10. 10
Bake at 400 degeees for 45 minutes. Let cool before slicing. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

This is great. I used 3 teaspoons yeast based on the 2.25 ounce measure. I wish I had mixed it in my KitchenAid mixer; instead, I mixed it by hand and that was okay — it seemed to mix well and worked okay. If you choose to mix this by hand, this is for the experienced cook! Thanks, Potatoes Browning! Made for PAC Fall '08.
