This recipe was so easy and was awesome. I finally made something that turned out the way it was supposed to, which for me is honestly a miracle. Most things I make taste good but never look like the picture. Thanks so much for this.

I've made this pie a hundred times over the last 10 years. This recipe was printed in the Shreveport Times years ago. It is an OUTSTANDING Strawberry pie and if you don't believe me, just ask the guys from ZZ Top who special order it when they are out on tour and come to Shreveport or the immediate vicinty. I've heard they are known to order 20+ of them at at time. Thank's for posting this recipe as I had lost the card I hate mine written on. I will add that this recipe has to have fresh strawberries for the delightful flavor and texture. Frozen ones just don't do as well.

Made yesterday (6/14/08) with our first harvest of strawberries from our garden. Simple to make and tasted yummy. DH has been looking forward to a strawberry pie every since we put in our berry plants, and he was extremely happy with it. I did use about 1 1/2 TBS of lemon juice for a balance that was to my taste.

This is the best pie EVER!!! I haven't lived in Shreveport in almost 20 years, but every time I get down there I buy a slice of this amazing pie. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it won't be exactly the same without Strawn's pie crust...that's the best part!
