Strawberry Glaze

It is very easy and tastes like the store bought glaze. Can be used for pie or for short cakes.

1 Pie (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    In medium sauce pan on high add all ingredients and bring to a boil. Stirring constantly!

    Remove from heat. Let stand five minutes.
  3. 3
    For Pie: Prepare crust and let cool.
  4. 4
    Arrange cut strawberries in pie crust. Pour glaze over strawberries. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours, or until set.

    For Short cakes. Cut strawberries and leave in med size glass bowl. Pour glaze over strawberries. Refrigerate 3-4 hours, or until set.

    Then serve over short cakes.

    I have been using the same recipe for years when making a fresh strawberry pie. It really brings out the "sparkle" in strawberries. So much better than purchased glaze. Once you try this you'll never go back to store bought. Also it can be made with sugar free gelatin and pudding !
