Strawberry Cinnamon Oatmeal

Recipe #272613 | 5 min | 2 min prep | add private note

By: catercow
Dec 19, 2007

This is just a little something I concocted this morning in lieu of how chilly it is outside (yes yes I know 50 degrees isn't very cold, but it is for florida). It combines my two favorite things--cinnamon and strawberries!

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Combine the oats and water in a bowl, stir and add about half the Equal and cinnamon.
  2. 2
    Microwave for 1 minute.
  3. 3
Stir, then add in the strawberries and stir again.
  4. 4
    Microwave for 1 more minute.
  5. 5
Stir again and add in the remainder of the Equal and the cinnamon.
  6. 6
Microwave again for 1 minute. (It should be done at this point, but depending on your microwave or how gooey you like your oatmeal you can heat it longer).
  7. 7
    Enjoy!

Cinnamon and strawberries are an interesting combination! I used old fashioned oats, frozen strawberries, and about half a tablespoon of cinnamon. I initially used two packets of Splenda, but later added two more because the cinnamon flavor was just too strong. I stopped microwaving it thirty seconds into the third minute, because it reached a good consistency for me. Thanks for posting.

Yum! I used blackberry jam instead of Equal, just a sprinkle of cinnamon, and did not cook the strawberries. Delicious! Cooked it 1.5 minutes total.

This is my favorite favorite thing to eat, every night before bed! I use oat ban instead of oats, and lots more berries though. I also like to add a bit of banana extract sometimes. I use Stevia herb instead of Equal to sweeten. MMMMMM!
