Steak Rub/Marinade

Recipe #155988 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

By: LifeAfter40
Feb 13, 2006

This was the way my father prepared steaks from the time I was little. Now, I have followed in his footsteps. I never order steak when I go out to eat, because it's just not as good as I can make at home. No steak sauce needed after this!

SERVES 3 -4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Lightly sprinkle first side of 3 or 4 steaks (prefer boneless ribeyes, but your choice) with dry seasonings.
  2. 2
Sprinkle worcestershire sauce over steaks and lightly rub in with finger tips.
  3. 3
    Flip steak and repeat.
  4. 4
Allow to sit for 10 to 15 min while grill warms up.

Yum! As others state, it is quick, easy, and does not require long marinading. I generously season it. My picky 7 and 3 year old eat it! That gets it in the rotation. Thanks.

I've used marinades, Montreal seasonings, herbs, whatever. This recipe is just so fantastic I can't praise it highly enough. It is fast and easy. I've used it enough that I made large batch and keep it in a small container to shake on the meat. Then I rub in the Worcestershire sauce and leave it for a little while I work on the rest of the meal. Great on ribeyes and sirloins as well as other cuts. I've quit using any other recipe, and I have at least 10 saved.

This was really, really good. I wasn't sure about the ginger, but the flavor didn't overwhelm. No one knew it was in there, they just knew that the steaks were fantastic. I used boneless rib eyes as you suggested. This rub didn't overpower the taste of the meat, it just enhanced it. This is by far the best rub I've tried yet. Thank you so much for making me a star!

I use Morton's season salt and I used a full teaspoon of the Penzey's Foxpoint seasoning (a garlic and herb blend) I left out the salt and garlic powder. The worcestershire and ginger are what make this so unique. We used it on ribeyes as suggested. The whole famliy loved it. My dd asked if we could have our steak like this every time. I have a number of good marinades I use so that is saying a lot. As easy as this is I may fulfill her request. I do think that the recipe could use a catchier title...although I'm not sure what!
