Spicy Baked New Potatoes

Recipe #174697 | 30 min | 15 min prep | add private note

These are so easy to make and so tasty. A little on the hot side, so be warned. NOTE: I used Mrs. Dash's Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend for this dish, however, the recipe could not be accepted that way. So the dried Chipotle powder in the recipe should be Mrs. Dash's Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 20 small new potatoes, cleaned and quartered
  • 2 tablespoons enova oil or lite olive oil
  • 2-3 teaspoons dried chipotle powder (see my note above)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (optional)

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. 2
Boil quartered potatoes for 15 minutes.
  3. 3
    Allow to cool slightly.
  4. 4
Place the potatoes in a large zip-lock bag.
  5. 5
Add the oil, Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend and kosher salt (if using).
  6. 6
Shake until all the potatoes are coated.
  7. 7
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until tender and nicely browned.

Perfection in the oven!! This was SO good. I didn't have the chipotle seasoning so I just made a chipotle blend using my dried chipotle chili pepper. I will do this again!! Thanks for sharing!!

Smoky, spicy, crisp potatoes that are super easy to make. Unable to find the specified blend, I ground up 2 tsps of dried chipotle flakes with 1 tsp of Mrs. Dash Table Blend. It still was not _make-you-sweat_ hot so I added a little ground cayenne pepper to take it over the edge. I halved the amount of potatoes for the two of us but used all the seasoning. The parboiling is a great idea! The spuds got nice and crispy in 20 minutes. Thanks for posting your recipe!

Great dish! We LOVED these!I served them as a side with another dish that I made for a tag game, and they were excellent! I did cut the recipe in half, as it was just for 2 of us.I expected to still have a little left, but these little "Hot Potatoes" were so good, they were gone! Thanks for another keeper ~Nimz~!
