This is a great change from the usual fruit dip recipes and it is so easy to make with only three simple ingredients. It is a recipe from my niece who got it from a friend who prepares fruit trays for a major grocery store. The preparation time is an estimate of the time it takes to prepare the fruit.

SERVES 8 -10 , 1 cup (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix sour cream, brown sugar and vanilla extract together.
  2. 2
Let stand in refrigerator for flavors to combine (at least an hour or two or even better overnight).
  3. 3
Cut fruit such as apples, bananas, grapes, melon, oranges, peaches, pears, strawberries or watermelon into pieces, chunks, wedges as desired.
  4. 4
Dip apples and bananas in lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
  5. 5
Place prepared fruit around the edge of a serving dish or tray.
  6. 6
Place dip in a pretty dish in the center of the tray.

Wonderful! I added in a bit of cinnamon and used a bit less brown sugar. The kids and I LOVED it! Next time I'll use honey instead of the brown sugar. Very easy and yummy!

This was sooo good. I, too was looking for a fruit dip without marshmallow cream and cream cheese. Thanks for sharing. I'm taking it to a family dinner and I know there won't be any leftovers.

I am not a marshmallow fluff fan and am so glad to have a fruit dip recipe that doesn't include that awful stuff. I made skewers of fresh strawberries, pineapple, kiwi and orange segments and placed them around a bowl of this dip on my appetizer buffet. Everyone loved the simplicity. Thanks for posting.

One of my easiest and yummiest desserts. I make this using plain fat-free yogurt as a substitute. We ALL love it
