From a community cookbook. Sounds easy and yummy with honey, ketchup, mustard powder, onion, paprika, red wine and coke! Imagine that! I love brisket so I can't wait to try this one. Best if marinated overnight.

SERVES 10 -12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Put the oil, coke, wine, honey, ketchup, mustard, onion and paprika in a food processor or blender and "chop" mixture.
  2. 2
    Pour over the brisket.
  3. 3
Marinate overnight if you have time.
  4. 4
Cook in a roasting pan with the liquid, at 350 degrees F., loosely covered, until fork tender (approximately 4 hours).
  5. 5
When brisket is cool, slice meat against the grain, and return to the pan with the gravy.
  6. 6
    Reheat when ready to serve.
  7. 7
To make the gravy thicker, you can pour the pan juices into a saucepan.
  8. 8
Add 1 tablespoons flour and let cook until half the liquid is reduced.
  9. 9
Pour over sliced meat and serve.

Couldn't rate this recipe, because I haven't tried it. Just wanted to point out that as it is, it's not kosher for passover. You should specify kosher for passover wine and ketchup, and Coke is not kosher for passover, though diet Coke might be. Looks like a great recipe, and I'll try it after the holiday.

This was easy and tastes great. However, when I finished cooking it, I could not slice it into nice pieces - it just fell apart. Next time, I'll cook it 3 hours, slice and then return to the oven to finish cooking.

What a nice, moist brisket! I did mine in a crockpot for about 5 hours on low. I marinated 8 hrs. Great flavors. Tell someone's Grandma thanks!

This left a very dark ,rich sauce. The flavor is unique. Easy and delicious, I would definitely do it again!
