Nice quick sauce that we enjoyed spooned over linguine along with some garlic sticks and salad. Nice meal!

I'll use this recipe often - it's easy to put together and tastes oh-so much better than store-bought. I softened my chopped onion in the microwave for a minute or two before adding, cut the red pepper by half, cut the salt to 3/4 tsp, and in the end stirred in a little bit of sugar to cut the tomato-y sharpness. I served over ravioli and it was delicious. It makes a lot, so I froze leftovers and am looking forward to using them. Glad you posted this recipe!

If my stomach could smile (and maybe it can, who knows?) it would be smiling after eating this delicious meal. This sauce has a delicious fresh taste. I only had time to simmer in the crockpot for 4 hours, but it is still utterly scrumptious. (Probably just a little runnier than it would've been otherwise.) I added a chopped green and red pepper, and twice as much garlic. I also made some homemade meatballs (easy - 1 lb ground beef with 1/4 of an onion chopped, 1 garlic clove, minced, a bit of basil and oregano, 1 egg, salt and pepper and a handful of rolled oats.) which I sauted first and then added to the simmering sauce. They were delicious - tender and flavorful thanks to this sauce. Try this one for supper tonight! You'll love it. Thanks to NurseDi for a fantastic recipe I'll be making often.

YUMMY!!! This was great and the next batch I make, I think I'll add some stuff, green peppers, mushrooms etc. But the basic sauce was fantastic. Hubby, who is very very fussy when it comes to spaghetti sauce loved it too. We've had it twice since I made it last Wednesday and I was able to freeze a total of 4 meals. Love this recipe! Thanks!!
