Simple Salsa

Recipe #128822 | 10 min | 10 min prep | add private note

There are tons of salsas out there, but I haven't found one exactly like mine. (Similar to pico de gallo I guess.) Do yourself a favor and find authentic Mexican chips from a local restaurant to go with this! Can't beat the taste. Can spice this up if you want, I do this for my bf, just add some cayenne to the mix! I love this so much I can eat half the bowl in one sitting!!

SERVES 3 -5 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Wash and dice tomatoes, peel and cut onion, peel and mince garlic or do what I do and use the already minced onion(1 tsp.)!
  2. 2
In a small bowl combine garlic, onion and tomatoes with cilantro, salt, and pepper (or garlic pepper salt). Stir with a spoon and mash a little, this will make it juicy, and as it sits it'll get juicer.
  3. 3
Enjoy with chips or add to entrees for flavor/side dip!

I made this as directed for another recipe I was making which needed salsa. This came out just superb - it was quick and easy to prepare with ingredients you almost always have on hand. I will indeed use this recipe again for a quick and easy replacement to store bought salsa. Thanks for posting!

This was so delicious. I was making Chicken Fajita Pizza (30021) and wanted a salsa that would be really good. This was excellent. I also used the pre-minced garlic. Also, I never seem to have fresh cilantro, but I use dried cilantro leaves, so I only used one tablespoon. Also, for the garlic salt I used Lawry's garlic salt...that is the best for good garlic salt flavor. Great recipe!!!
