Shrimp With Olive Oil and Garlic

Recipe #248414 | 10 min | add private note

By: KatieMcCooksAlot
Aug 23, 2007

For garlic lovers! This recipe comes from a cookbook from a Restaurant Management course I took in university. I've been making it on a regular basis ever since. I usually serve this over a bed of rice, or on those lazy nights I skip the rice and soak up the sauce with slices of bread

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Saute the garlic in the olive oil until translucent.
  2. 2
    Add the shrimp and salt.
  3. 3
Toss to coat the shrimp with the oil and cook until the shrimp are just pink, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. 4
    Add the lemon juice.
  5. 5
Arrange the shrimp on warm serving plates; top with the oil, garlic and lemon juice left in the pan.
  6. 6
    Serve immediately.

I made this on Christmas Eve when one of my relatives showed up with shrimp and directed me to "make something with it". It was terrific!! Really delicious and easy, and the lemon flavor was just the right amount.

This was delicious. I added some spinach leaves to the saute and served the dish over spaghetti with grated parmesean cheese on top. Loved the garlic. It was tasty without being over powering. Thanks for the recipe!

Hi there, I made these with a few extra ingredients — chiles & parsley. Added them to the oil with the garlic for about 10 seconds. Served it with noodles that were tossed with crushed red pepper flakes. The dish was wonderful! I am so sorry that it's taken me so long to review your recipe. It was very good. Thanks so much for sharing, Diane
