Ok, I tried this with jasmine rice using 1T oil. It was good but it wasn't sticky like I had hoped (I wanted rice sticky enough to be eaten with chopsticks). But it'll still be a great side dish, especially if you add some garlic and onion.

This is a great shortcut when you're running low on time and need sticky rice in a hurry; I can imagine that I'll be using this one a lot since it can be a trick to find time to do it the original way. I used half jasmine and half white rice. We did find it a bit oily and will probably reduce/omit the oil next time, though. Thanks so much for posting this timesaver!

This a great way to make sticky rice...one of my grandson's favorites. I did use medium grain rice and low sodium chicken broth and no salt and it turned out perfect. Thanks Mercy
