DH really likes the steamer bags of mushrooms and peas in the frozen foods aisle, but this recipe blows those steamer bags out of the water! We sliced the garlic really thin and added a bit more peas. The butter could probably be cut down to 3 tablespoons, but other than that we are in love with this recipe!

Been making peas this way for years! I usually serve them as a side for a pork or beef roast. Very yummy, and always a hit with company.

Very easy and tasted wonderful. I used fresh button mushrooms and 4 cloves of garlic. You are right about this being a dressed-up side dish because it looked very elegant. Went perfectly with the roast beef and steamed baby carrots for our family dinner. Thank you papergoddess. My family and I loved it.
