I am looking for a good appetizer recipe for this New Years party were going to and decided to try this one..I used Italian sweet sauage and this recipe made exactly 40 balls..I think they were too big for toothpick appetizers. My DH and I did not think they were very good, but we did like the dipping sauce #150023 and used it on beef and ham sandwiches, I am going to use it on burgers next..

YUM! I served these at a dinner party last weekend - they were the first to go! I only got 1 and that was straight from the oven! Two thumbs up! Update: I've made this again using hot sausage and pepperjack cheese (we like it spicy) and they turned out sooo good!!!

I have made these many times. I usually use Jimmy Dean Hot sausage and only about 1 to 1 1/2 cups bisquik. They turn out great and are always a crowd pleaser. I also make a mustard dip for them. I use dijon mustard, some vinegar, some sugar and an egg yolk. Mix in a sausepan for a few minutes until well blended and sugar is dissolved. Tastes great with the sausage balls!
