Sanders (Or Saunders?) Hot Fudge Topping

I received an email today with a few copycat recipes in it. I'm not sure of the spelling: Sanders or Saunders? Either way....sounds yummy!

1 container of topping (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 lb caramel
  • 1/2 lb milk chocolate, Sanders brand is recommended
  • 1/2 pint vanilla ice cream, Sanders brand is recommended (or 1 cup soft ice cream)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

    Place milk and caramels in double boiler.
  2. 2
    Heat and stir until hot, smooth cream is obtained.
  3. 3
    Chop the chocolate and add it to the above hot cream.
  4. 4
    Stir until melted.
  5. 5
    Mix in soft ice cream and vanilla extract, and stir until smooth.

    Variation: Instead of using whole milk, substitute 1/3 cup very strong coffee.
