I love salty dogs...but a salty dog martini is something you don't see very often...it's just a touch stronger than a regular salty dog. this recipe is just the right amount for my martini glasses which are a bit larger than most. for a smaller or regular size martini glass, 2 oz. of vodka and juice should be plenty. enjoy!

SERVES 1 , 1 salty dog martini (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Rim martini glasses with margarita salt or kosher salt.
  2. 2
In a shaker, combine ice, vodka and grapefruit juice. Shake well.
  3. 3
Pour mixture into martini glasses and serve!

This is my kind of cocktail! I prefer gin over vodka, though. I like a 1:1 ratio of juice to liquir, so this is great. What's even better is that this is double the amount of that I usually make! I typically use a jigger of juice and a jigger of gin. Add a teaspoon of powdered sugar or simple syrup as needed. You'll be surprised at how the citrus flavors masks the 3 ounces of liquor. Be careful! I think one is my limit for this drink!
