Runza Dough

Recipe #133977 | 3 hours | 2 hours prep | add private note

All the recipes for runzas call for frozen dough. This is a much better dough. It would be good with any number of fillings like ham and cheese etc. It's 2 packages of yeast but since I'm too stupid to figure out how to put it ... I've written the recipe like I found it.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Measure 1 3/4 cup flour.
  2. 2
Add yeast, lard, sugar, milk, water and salt.
  3. 3
    Mix.
  4. 4
    Add eggs.
  5. 5
    Stir in remaining flour.
  6. 6
Knead 10 minutes, cover, let rise till double. this takes about 1 hour Now you can go to other runzas recipes and use this to wrap around fillings. These are great.

The recipe needed a little more clerification. Maybe needed to be a little mroe in detail. But the measurements for everything was good. It takes about an hour for the dough to rise.

This made a great Runza! I had to add quite a bit more flour, but the dough was very light when cooked. Thanks for this taste of Nebraska.
