A "partial" bread-machine recipe. Start in your machine, and finish in the oven, or use a mixer fitted with a dough hook, if you prefer.

1 loaf (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Place ingredients (except the rosemary and egg used for topping) in the bread machine in the order given.
  2. 2
Use manual cycle to knead bread only.
  3. 3
Turn dough out into an oiled loaf pan (be sure to remove hook), then punch down and spread dough to fill pan.
  4. 4
Allow dough to rise in a warm area until doubled in size, approx 1 hour.
  5. 5
Brush dough with beaten egg, sprinkle with chopped rosemary, and allow to rise again for about 10 more minutes.
  6. 6
Bake bread at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes, or until nicely browned.
  7. 7
Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

Yummy, easy bread! It was so easy to make in the bread machine and then pop it in the oven to bake. We loved it and almost polished off the whole loaf with dinner tonight. I might try making it completely in the bread machine (you'd obviously have to skip the topping step). Thanks for this keeper!

I made this lovely bread dough into little dinner rolls. I weigh the dough when I'm making rolls otherwise it's too difficult to get them all the same size. This makes 12 rolls at 45-50g each, baked for 15 mins. I like the egg glaze. It made the rolls look very appealing.
