Excellent recipe! I followed directions exactly...except I used 1/2 whole wheat flour. It worked perfectly! I made one batch and left overnight in the fridge as a test for cinnamon rolls and they were GREAT! I am making a second batch right now as we are having a bake sale at church tomorrow and I can tout them as a bit healthier with 1/2 whole wheat! Thanks for a real keeper! Can't wait to try them out for everyday rolls!

I couldn't rate this the first time I made it because it wouldn't rise, no one's fault but my own. I had bought what I thought was my regular yeast but no, it was different. Just made tonight and made cloverleaf rolls and 3 mini loaves. Paritally baked the clover leafs and 1 mini loaf, froze one mini loaf and baked the other all the way. Boy it was great! Can't wait to stock my freezer with a few more batches. This will be a staple in our house from now on! (Along with your crab quiche, I always have 2 in the freezer!)

Aroostook, now this is going to be kinda windy, but you did it for me so you have to read. As you know I have tried various recipes for rolls here on Zaar, including those that have shown up in the top 40 that didn't work, and you promised me these would. I took you at your word, you know you did PROMISE, and I finally did it. These were the best. I used my KA to knead the dough and just kept adding flour until it pulled away from the sides of the bowl. When I removed the dough from the bowl, I placed it on a floured area and kneaded it several times. It was very sticky, but it felt different from the other doughs I've tried, very airy. So I decided not to put them in the frig, and covered them with a towel and within an hour they had doubled. I punched down, and let them rise again, again about an hour, and they doubled again, (to my surprise). Then I tore off a good size chunk, and put them in my baking pan, covered them with a towel. Now this is when everything usually falls apart for me and I get a heavy, will-not-rise-if-I-had-to blob. I covered it with a towel and had to leave the house. When I returned about an hour later the first thing I did was look toward my kitchen, and to my amazement, the towel was standing at attention. These babies rose like a real tropper. These were so good, but the size of hamburger buns. (You see, my rolls never have risen before, so I wasn't thinking of the size. Next time will made smaller size rolls) DH said he was going to the store to buy some hamburger meat for Hamburgers tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help and behind the sceen advice. I have finally made a homemade roll that didn't turn out like a brick. Success at last. (By the way, Aroostook, I took a picture of the giant rolls because they were my first success at making rolls, and will get it to you somehow, but I will not post by the recipe. It might scar some people)

Very easy to make. I like the fact that I can make it in advance and have fresh rolls whenever we need them. I made the clover leaf rolls per the directions. The rolls were very crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. There were oohs and ahs and sighs of pleasure coming from my family when I brought the rolls to the table.
