Our family likes these breadsticks because they are soft and chewy. I like to make them when I am in a hurry because they rise quickly.

My first attempt at this recipe failed because I tried to hand knead and didn't do a good job, the dough didn't rise. I made it again but this time, put the dough in my bread maker and made snake-like sticks with the dough instead of rolling it out (no rolling pin). I put them in an oven set to 200 and turned off to help them rise, 20 minutes was perfect. Baked them and brushed them with butter and garlic salt, YUM YUM. Great recipe!

Absolutely wonderful! My four year old said she doesn't need to go to Olive Garden anymore. I immediately brush on butter when out of the oven and place in a cloth covered bowl to keep warm. I freeze left overs and rebake at 350 degrees for 10 min. Rebutter when done.

These are FABULOUS!!! I followed the directions exactly ... when they came out of the oven, I brushed them all with melted garlic butter ,and on half of them, I sprinkled parmesan cheese on them. MM!!!!! I ate, like 5, of them right out of the oven! LOL I rolled out my regtangle and marked off where to cut them , I only got 15 breadsticks, but what I did was after cutting them from top to bottom , I cut them across the middle , giving me a double batch of actually, regular size breadsticks. A PIZZA cutter works WONDERFUL for cutting this dough! Thanks so much for posting this recipe!! I have a feeling I'll be baking a LOT of breadsticks!

THANK YOU! Finally a great bread recipe that doesn't take all day long and tastes soooo delicious! I do enjoy different bread recipes but I simply don't have the time to spend on them. My family MUST have bread every night with dinner so this solves that problem. I brush with butter and then sprinkle italian seasonings and/or parmasan cheese or garlic and parsley. All are very good. My only regret is that I didn't find this sooner.
