I found this recipe in one of those cookbooks you can buy at the check out stand. I've altered it to fit my allergies and my family's tastes. The original recipe called for 1 lb of boneless beef sirloin cut into thin strips, but I actually prefer to use ground beef. Serving size is 1 1/4 cups.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Spray a 12-inch skillet and heat over medium-high heat.
  2. 2
Add ground beef, onion and green pepper; cook and stir 5 minutes or until browned.
  3. 3
Add water, tomatoes, tomato sauce, paprika, sugar, salt, and caraway seed.
  4. 4
Mix well and bring to a boil.
  5. 5
    Add rotini.
  6. 6
Rduce heat to medium; cook uncovered for 10-15 minutes or until rotini is tender stirring occasionally.

Delicious! Quick and simple! Just right for a week night dinner. I made as is except used a red bell pepper, and added a shredded carrot. Wonderful! Thanks LA! Will be making this again! Made for Every Day is a Holiday!

Great, and such an easy recipe! Although I cut the paprika in half, everything else the same. And using one pan, no clean up! Wonderful flavours, I must admit .......... We did use Permesan as a sprinkling on top. The family loves this, will be making again. Thanks LARavenscroft.

Wonderful, bold flavors! The paprika ( I used sweet Hungarian) and the caraway seeds make this so tasty. I love that you only need one pan to make this. I made this just as written and wouldn't change a thing! Thanx for a tasty meal!
