Our Christmas get togethers start off with this punch. The first Christmas I served this punch:It was not until clean up time that I realized I didn't add the ginger ale. No one knew the difference. It serves 50 and it was gone in a blink. I have remembered to add the ale since. I found this in 1997 St.Francis Families II cookbook.

SERVES 50 , 1 punch bowl (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 2 packages unsweetened Kool-Aid (use flavor desired for color)
  • 3 quarts water

  • 2 (6 ounce) cans frozen orange juice
  • 1 quart pineapple juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 quart ginger ale

Directions

  1. 1
Refrigerate all your ingredients, so to be cold.
  2. 2
Mix all ingredients except ginger ale.
  3. 3
Add ginger ale just before serving.

I loved this punch. I made it for a Halloween party last year and everyone loved it. I'm going to try it for a wedding shower later this month but use strawberry kool aid and add maybe some pineapple and orange rings to it....great recipe!!!!

This is a very simple and tasty punch to prepare for a crowd. I especially like the idea that you can change the color and flavor somewhat depending on the flavor of kool-aid you choose to use. Thanks for sharing this with us Peggy from Texas.
