TERRIFIC--just like my mom's recipe! I got way more than 2 doz. from this, but I made them by the tsp-ful. Do not make these if you want a crispy cookie--these are deliciously cakey. My husband has not stopped eating them since they came from the oven--6+ cookies a day is a LOT!

My neighbor just gave me this almost exact recipe...hers does not have the nutmeg. I just made it and it is really wonderful. I think the nutmeg would make a great addition, you could probably play around with the spices to your liking. I actually made 2 loaves instead of cookies. I baked them for 45 minutes at 375. Her recipe says it makes 4 dozen cookies. Thanks for posting...this is a keeper!

These cookies are super easy to make, extremely chewy, and EVERYBODY loved them. I'm making more today to take to a holiday potluck.
