Prosciutto-wrapped Asparagus

These are great. asparagus can be blanched ahead

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add the asparagus, and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.

    Drain, and when the asparagus is cool enough to handle, wrap each spear with a slice of prosciutto.
  3. 3
    Brush the spears with oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4
    Set the grill on medium heat, and cook the asparagus for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until the prosciutto is marked.

This recipe is WONDERFUL!! i chose to not boil the asparagus first, as my friends garden had many weaker spears i was thoughtful enough to take out for her (wink wink) but wrapped in the proscuitto, a bit of balsamic & olive oil, pepper..on the grill for 4-5 minutes, then sprinkled parmegiano reggiano on top, it made dinner a hit!!..Thank much Nimz, AGAIN for a fantastic dinner!!

    I made this recipe for easter 09 and was a hit! I follwed it to the letter! My dad went on and on how good it was. Thanks for posting.

    I have only tried asparagus once before and hated it. But this one will make an asparagus lover out of anyone! We put a small amount of fontina cheese on the prosciutto before wrapping it around the asparagus, and spread a little butter on it also. I highly recommend this dish to everyone.... asparagus lovers or not!

    I love this dish! I make this quite often, and will be making it for an upcoming Valentine's get together! It's also great, because they're easy for snacking on as well
